Tri-Region Community Better Challenge June 1-30, 2021
The Community Better Challenge is back in 2021
The Community Better Challenge was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic but is back in 2021 for ParticipACTION’s 50th anniversary celebration. The 2021 challenge will look a little different as we navigate the varying public health protocols and recommendations across Canada. But one thing is certain: we are ready to inspire, motivate and support recovery and connection through physical activity and sport (either in person or virtually) and crown Canada’s Most Active Community (that’s totally us - the Tri-Region!).
About the Challenge
ParticipACTION’s annual Community Better Challenge is a nationwide initiative that rallies communities to sit less and move more. The goal is to engage families, friends, neighbours and fellow community members to get active and track all physical activity through the ParticipACTION mobile application and/or online platform. Check out the Tri-Region Community Better Challenge activity calendar for the month of June (link will be coming!). There will be activities you can join any day during June. Make sure you track your activity.
Do you have the active app yet?
Use the ParticipACTION app to track your activity and have a chance of winning great prizes! The app can be downloaded through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or online at www.participaction.com/challenge. Get active. Get exploring. Get winning.
Alternatively, if you don’t have the app or if you are under 17, you can use this form HERE to log your active minutes.
Stay tuned for a complete list of events and activities sponsored by many awesome organizations in our region.
Make the Tri-Region the most active community in Canada!
The Tri-Region Community Score will consist of all tracked active minutes based on a participant’s postal code and the community with the most active minutes will be crowned “Canada’s Most Active Community.” ParticipACTION is providing a prize of $100,000 to the overall national winner and a separate prize of $25,000 will be awarded a regional winner within Alberta.
