The Alberta Mine Safety Association and Imperial Oil are proud to co-host the 40th Annual Provincial Mine Rescue Competition!
Mine Rescue team members are an elite group with specialized skills and training, whose job involves rescuing miners and others who have become trapped or injured in the event of a mining incident. Competing Surface Mine Rescue teams from the province of Alberta will put on a display of their rescue techniques to win the top spot and the prestige of their peers. The competition provides an opportunity for the public, industry and the Province to gauge the capabilities of mine rescue in Industry today.
The competition events are FREE for spectators to watch and are a fascinating insight into the world of Mine Rescue.
- First Aid, Rope & Recover, Spare and Main Events events will be held from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Fire and Search & Rescue events will be held at the Spruce Grove Fire grounds from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Awards Banquet: 6:30 PM - 1:00 AM
