Blue Fins Portal

Welcome to the Blue Fins Junior Lifeguard Club - Parent/Guardian Portal

Our Program/club communication is sent through email, and only to the email address that is linked to your customer account. If you would like me to add extra email addresses to my list, please let me know.

Conversely, if you have recently withdrawn from the club and need to be removed from the email list, please let us know that, too.

If you want to reach out to the coaches directly, you can either email:

 Jenine at jarmstrong@trileisure.com

Ashley Budzinski (Coach) at abudzinski@trileisure.com mailto: abudzinski@trileisure.com

Jadyn Svenningsen (Instructor Lead) at jsvenningsen@trileisure.com

We can either answer the question for you or pass it along to the appropriate person.

Our Code of Conduct forms have been updated. You can see them HERE

We will be handing out paper copies to be taken home, reviewed, signed and returned to the coaches by WEDNESDAY, October 15. Please take some time to go over the forms with your swimmer. We want to ensure that the JLC is a safe and welcoming place for all athletes.

Also, we will need all the parent-volunteer help we can get to run our swim meet on December 6. We can’t do it without you – more details on what we need will follow.

TEAM SWIMSUITS & JAMMERS (mark your calendars!)

We will be placing an order for team swimsuits in two weeks, which means ordering and payments happen at the same time. If you are interested in purchasing a swimsuit (which is optional), here is what you need to do:

On…

  • Wednesday, October 15  from 3:45-6:15pm
  • Monday, October 20 from 3:45-6:15pm

… there will be a table set up on the pool deck (just east of the men’s pool changeroom) with the swimsuit sizing kit for swimmers to try on, BEFORE they begin practice/get wet.

How to try on a swimsuit:

  1. Be DRY. Do it BEFORE practice.
  2. Keep your underwear ON.

It should fit snug, but still be comfortable.

Swimsuits must be PRE-PAID at the Front Desk before we submit the order to Speedo.

Cost:
Girls Suits = $69 + GST = $72.45
Boys Jammers = $52 + GST = $54.60

To recap:

  • Try on swimsuits.
  • Give orders/size to people on the pool deck.
  • Go to the Front Desk and pay for your Blue Fins swimsuit under your CHILD’S NAME. If you do not pre-pay, then the swimsuit will not be ordered.

This is what they look like:

(Except that we have our team name screened onto the suits.)

Volunteer Coaching Forms

For our club swimmers who are a bit older, mature, are interested in sharing their knowledge and passion for lifesaving sport with the younger swimmers, and would like to volunteer as a coach, please complete the JLC Volunteer application form – see attachment. Forms will be reviewed by the coaches, and selected individuals will be asked to help out during practice times.

Lifesaving as a Sport

Lifesaving Sport is the world’s most demanding, multi-disciplinary sport, combining athletic ability with lifesaving skills and rescue equipment. Lifesaving Sport is unique because it is the only sport in which skills are learned for humanitarian purposes and then applied to competition.

As the Canadian sport governing body for lifesaving in Canada, the Lifesaving Society promotes healthy, active living through its Lifesaving Sport program across Canadian communities. Competition, staff training, and camaraderie are but a few of the opportunities to attract new participants to lifesaving programs, to showcase Canada’s lifeguards, and to promote public awareness of our drowning and water-related injury prevention aims.

The Lifesaving Society (LSS) is not just developing great lifesavers, but great Canadians.
