Arena Drop-In Guidelines 

  •  AGE & PLAY  Age guidelines MUST be met to participate in TLC scheduled arena activities. Photo ID with Date of Birth may be requested to confirm age category. The age guidelines are based on your age on the day you want to play. Sorry, no exceptions on age and play.

    SIGN-IN : All participants must register in person at the front desk no sooner than 30 minutes before the session’s start time—early sign-in will not be allowed.

    WRISTBANDS: Before entering the Arena/Dressing Room area, a wristband and the assigned drop-in wristband must be obtained at the front desk as proof of admission.

    Formal organized coaching is not permitted during drop-in sessions. Rental time can be booked for coaching/lessons - please ask at the Front Desk.

    SKATES & CSA HOCKEY HELMETS ARE MANDATORY: All patrons (including adults) are required to wear skates and CSA-approved hockey helmets while on the ice.

    NO FOOD OR BEVERAGES permitted on the ice. Plastic water bottles are permitted.

    REPORT CONCERNS: Please immediately report any concerns about activities on the ice, bench or change rooms to the Arena Operator. 

Stick & Puck:
  • For individual practice - no organized shinny or group coaching permitted. 
  • Certified Hockey Helmets (CSA standard) are MANDATORY for all ages. 
    • Under 18’s are required to wear full gear: skates, neck guard, hockey pants, support cup, hockey gloves, shin/elbow/shoulder pads, and regulation hockey stick. .  Adults 18+ require a helmet and gloves at all times.
  • Sign in time is 30 minutes prior to the session start time.
  • Players must be physically present in order to sign in.
  • "Age" is the player’s age on the date of sign-in - no exceptions
  • 7 & under years of age: an adult may be on the ice or in the player’s box for supervision. Visual Supervision required.
  • 8-11 years of age: an adult may be on the ice surface if the child requires assistance, but children will be given priority for places in the session to spend time on the ice. (This session is intended for 8-11-year-olds to develop skills, and spots will go to the children first; parents will be asked to wait until the session starts to sign in.)
  • Family Stick & Puck: Designed to give parents the opportunity to work on passing, puck control and skating with their children - active participation required from an adult (18+)  for every child/youth aged 17 and under. (Max 4 kids with each adult).
Shinny:
  • NO body checking allowed. NO slap shots.
  • Maximum 24 Players, 4 Goalies
  • All Participants MUST be considerate of other players and allow everyone equal playing time.
  • Full hockey equipment required: skates, neck guard, hockey pants, support cup, hockey gloves, shin/elbow/shoulder pads, and regulation hockey stick.
  • Certified hockey helmets (CSA Standard) are MANDATORY with full-faced mask for all patrons 17 years and under.
  • Sign-in time is 30 minutes prior to the session start time (45 minutes for Adult shinny).
  • Players must be physically present in order to sign in.
  • "Age" is the player’s age on the date of sign-in - no exceptions.
  • 12-14 years of age 
  • 15-17 years of age
  • Adult 18+
  • Open Shinny (all ages)
Public Skating
  • Certified hockey helmets (CSA Standard) are REQUIRED when on the ice for ALL skaters (including ADULTS).  Bike helmets are not permitted.
  • No Sticks and Pucks on the ice during Public Skates.
  • All skaters must be wearing skates on the Main Ice for Public Skating.
  • No Strollers Permitted.
Leisure Ice: 
  • Available daily for drop-in during Operating hours.
  • Pay to play: A facility wristband is required for access.
  • No Sticks or Pucks allowed (the Leisure ice is surrounded by glass windows).
  • Certified hockey helmets (CSA Standard) are REQUIRED when on the ice for ALL skaters (including ADULTS).  
  • Helmets are required for all ice users. Bike helmets are not permitted.
  • No Strollers permitted.
Ringette:
  • Certified hockey helmets (CSA Standard) are REQUIRED for ALL skaters (including adults) on the ice. Under 18s require full equipment, and Adults 18+ require a helmet and gloves at all times.
  • Ringette drop-in is available for all ages and skill levels
  • Full Gear: A Ringette stick, gloves, shin pads, shoulder pads, neck guards, and elbow pads.
