COVID-19 Update as of November 27, 2020
Just when we think we have things figured out, COVID-19 throws in a bit of a wrench!
New health measures aim to slow the spread of the virus and the TLC is among many fitness centres and businesses who are affected. Luckily, we are able to turn our focus to family activities during the program pause! So please, take this time to spend some time with the most important people in your life!
What can I still do at the TLC from November 13-December 18?
The following amenities and activities are still available for our valued members and community members:
- Individual workouts in the Fenwyck Fitness Centre including the indoor track, 2nd floor cardio area and spin platform. No booking required.
- Family* skate (Schedule HERE)
- Family* activity bookings in the gym, on the field or in the arena** (Schedule HERE)
- Lane swim (Schedule HERE)
- Family* swim (Schedule HERE)
- TLC Active Kids Preschool program
* Family = people who live in your household only. If you don’t live together, you can’t play/swim/skate here together. No exceptions. This is a AHS directive in order to keep recreation safe and allow us to remain OPEN!
** Possible family bookings include skating, turf activities, volleyball, basketball, badminton, pickleball, but as above, if you don’t live together, you can’t play here together!
What is not available?
- Group fitness classes (both registered and drop-in)
- AquaFit
- Team sports activities (hockey, ringette, soccer)*
- Swim lessons
- Homeschool Physical Education
- Child Minding
How will this affect my membership?
All memberships that were activated prior to November 13 are still active at this time. Members who wish to inquire about put their membership on hold should contact our team at memberships@trileisure.com
Can I cancel my membership?

What drop-in sports are available?
As our #1 goal is to keep our patrons and the surrounding community as safe as possible during this time, all activities must be pre-booked by one adult for their family household. You can pre-book an ice, field or gym time for one of several sports (Schedule HERE). Email your request in advance (including your first and second choice for your preferred day, time and sport) to activities@trileisure.com If you are not a planner, you can call our front desk team on the day to see if we have any openings available.
The cost for booking a field or gym time is the cost of admission, or free for our members.
Will I get a refund or makeup classes for the “pause”?
All programs currently affected will receive a prorated credit by December 7th. The credit will appear on your account but can only be applied to a new program or service by calling or coming in (i.e. it can’t be applied to a new program during an online registration). If we haven’t yet been able to connect because we have the wrong contact info on your account, please feel free to email us at info@trileisure.com or call at 780-960-5080 to check on the status of the credit.
SWIM LESSON UPDATE
I am sure you’ve heard the news from the Premier on Tuesday, November 24th about the extended restrictions to our programs. Our hope from the news conference two weeks ago, was that the “2-week pause” was only going to last two weeks, and that we could resume lessons next week. Unfortunately, this is not the case, and we will be crediting all missed/unfinished classes on your TLC accounts.
Some answers to questions you may have:
What do we do about receiving report cards?
Aquatic Instructors will be completing report cards based on the performance criteria they were able to observe so far. Report cards will be able to be picked up at the Front Desk on or after December 7th.
What if our lesson set just got started?
For those who were registered in a 2x/wk session, which started on either October 27th (Tu/Th) or October 28 (M/W), report cards will not be issued because there was not enough time to see the children accomplish any performance criteria. IF you returned a report card to the instructor, that report card will be available for pick up at the Front Desk on December 7th.
I handed in a report card, will I get it back?
All report cards that were handed in will be available for pick up at the Front Desk.
When will the credits be on my account?
We have a large number of participants in programs to administer credits to individual accounts, so it will take about a week and a half to fully complete this task. Please allow us some time to put the credits on the account before they are available to you. Once on your account, they will be available to use over the phone or in person towards any TLC product, service, or program. Unfortunately, credits cannot be used online. If you would like a refund, please call 780-960-5080 with your credit card number.
Will the Winter swim session go ahead?
As far as we know right now, the restrictions listed will only be for 3 weeks. So, until we receive further notice, we are planning to run the January swim programs.
What are the Registration Dates for the Winter Session?
December 8th for members and December 10th for non-members – 5:00 AM online, in person or over the phone.
