Goodbye summer! I don’t know about you, but I enjoyed every minute (minus the smoke)! But now it is time to get down to business and back into routine. Kids are back in school next week and all registered in their fall programs and I plan to take some time to get myself active this fall!
If you’re new to the TLC or the region, you might not know that we have many options to get fit this fall:
1. Do your own thing: Purchase a membership (usually the most economical way for regular patrons, options here) or just drop in and get a day admission. Then visit the Century 21 Aquatic Centre or the Fenwyck Fitness Complex’s weight room, the cardio machines in the Sunshine Room, or use the various cardio and strength equipment around the fitness track. Stretch, strengthen or sweat it out in our Spruce Grove Room or the Studio (dependent on class schedules). We have lots of space and equipment for you. PRO TIP: Bring your planned workout or video with you to the TLC and use our equipment to get the most out of each session!
2. Get a Trainer: We have some of the most qualified and experienced personal training staff in the Tri-Region, here at the TLC. Whether you want a fitness assessment and program to reach your goals, or you want personalized one-on-one training sessions over a longer period of time, we are sure one of our PT staff is the right fit for you. Check out our staff bios and specialties here, then give them a call to book a consultation. PRO TIP: Know what your fitness goals are for your consultation, i.e. lose 10 lbs., learn about the equipment, train for a specific event, etc. That way, our trainers can plan with your goals in mind!
3. Take a Class: Whether it is a program like POUND or Barre Body, or a drop-in class like Step, Zumba or Spin, try something new and push yourself in a group setting with one of our experienced and motivating instructors. Full program guide and schedule here. PRO TIP: Arrive early to your class for set up and instruction if required. Be sure to pick up a drop-in wristband at the front desk if you are taking a drop-in program!
Fitness is not a one-size-fits-all journey. The important thing is to find something you enjoy and stick to a routine. After all, you’re investing in yourself and will feel better, healthier, stronger, and more able to give 100% in other aspects of your life! Whatever you choose, good luck!
