A triACTIVE lifestyle knows no limits.
Creating a Healthier Tri Community
At the TLC, we do our best to make sure our facilities are accessible to as many individuals and families as possible.
In 2011, we partnered with the Westview Health Centre Foundation (formerly Tri Community Health & Wellness Foundation) to ensure community members with disabilities and or community members living with limited income have the ability to get active within their community. The Tri Community area is comprised of approximately 87,000 people, and it;s estimated that 13% of residents live at or below the low income level (source Stony Plain FCSS 2017).
The Westview Health Centre Foundation works in partnership with local agencies such as FCSS, Alberta Parenting for the Future, Neighborlink and Alberta Mental Health to evaluate community members needs and their eligibility for the Wishing You Wellness program.
Wishing You Wellness
We encourage low income individuals and families to apply for the Wishing You Wellness program on behalf of the Westview Health Centre Foundation. The intent of this program is to give approved families, adults, seniors, youth and children the opportunity to make the most of our facilities, programs and services at a reduced participation fee. Community Members are required to pay 25% of the participation fees while the TLC subsidizes an additional 25% and the Foundation subsidizes 50%.
The program is currently funded by the Foundation and the "Wishing Wells" throughout our community. Annually the program supports hundreds of community members looking to get active.
Residents of Parkland County, the City of Spruce Grove or the Town of Stony Plain who meet a predetermined household income bracket qualify for subsidized access to the TLC. This qualification applies to adults, seniors, youth, children and families. To find out if your family qualifies, please refer to the Wishing you Wellness Guidelines and apply through one of the approved agencies listed below.
Approved applicants will receive an acceptance letter in the mail from the Westview Health Centre Foundation. The recipient of this letter must present it at the TLC Customer Experience Desk within 30 days of the letter’s date of approval, and after contributing their 25% portion of the fee, will receive their subsidized dollars in the form of a TLC Gift Card. This card can be put towards TLC facilities, programs and services with no expiry date (cannot be redeemed for cash).
