I was raised in Valleyview, Alberta, and spent 10 years around the Fairview area after attending college there for Equine Studies. I was a competitive barrel racer and have been around horses since I was 6. I was never an athletic child, more the book worm. I was very shy about my weight and this caused me to be very quiet.
After struggling with obesity for nearly 26 years, I made the decision to become a role model for my daughter and to become the person I knew that I could be. I spent a year reading about fitness and training myself, slowly losing weight and building up muscle with the goal of competing in a bodybuilding show in the figure category.
As I trained more, I knew that I needed to help people with their weight loss journey as well. I started with getting my group training certification and then my personal training certification.
I moved to the Edmonton area in 2010 and started training clients full-time and helping them on their fitness journey. In 2011, I stepped on stage for the first time and I was hooked. I have competed in 3 bodybuilding shows in Figure with the ABBA and most recently in the Physique category this past May. I obtained my Sports Specific Trainer to further help my clients and work with athletes as well, and then my PN Level 1. I am currently taking my sports nutrition cert to further my education.
Fitness is my passion. I know firsthand what it feels like to be obese and how hard it was to train on my own to lose weight. I want to bring that knowledge to my clients and help them through the struggles, and feelings that can accompany a weight loss journey. My job is to help coach my clients through the process because my clients are more than just clients to me, their goals become my goals. I strive to bring the best training that I can to my clients so that they can achieve those goals and be motivated to keep going!
I believe that each one of us has the potential to change who we are, to be fit and healthy and happy with our bodies and our minds.
