We want our local athletes to train to be the best they can be right here at home in their community. For that reason, the TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre has developed a leading-edge strength and conditioning programs for young athletes -
the Athlete Development Project
The TLC does not believe in a one-size-fits all approach to Athlete Development. We know that collaboration between sport coaches, athletes, parents and TLC Sport Conditioning specialists is essential to developing programs that meet the needs of our local athletes and teams. The Athlete Development Project programs are built on age-appropriate exercises with a focus on fundamental movement skills and overall physical literacy. We believe that establishing proper movement patterns is essential for creating an athletic base for future development. Athlete Development programs include general physical preparation (GPP) as well as strength, power and speed development. Additionally, we believe that every athlete has a responsibility for self-maintenance. Therefore, athletes participating in the Athlete Development Project will be introduced to strategies for both activation and recovery to ensure long-term health and performance.
- Team strength and conditioning programs
- Athlete Development camps and programs open to individual athletes (register here)
- Custom small group or individual athlete training programs
Taking your game to the next level will not be easy, but together we can help you meet your goals.
